Privacy
Off Balance Labs is a personal project run by one person. This page says what it collects, who else sees it, and how to get it removed.
Last updated: 26 August 2026.
Visiting the website
Page views are measured with PostHog. Visitors are not asked to identify themselves and no profile is created for them. A random device id is stored in your browser so a return visit can be told from a new one.
PostHog also records session replays on this site. A replay captures how a page was navigated. Analytics requests are proxied through this domain rather than sent to PostHog directly, so ad blockers do not skew the counts.
Vercel Speed Insights measures page load performance. Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
Sending links to the bot
The Link Manager saves links you send it over Telegram, WhatsApp, or the LinkBank iOS app. If you never message it, none of this applies to you.
When you send a link, it stores:
- The link itself, and any text you wrote alongside it.
- An identifier for you from that app, and your display name there. On WhatsApp that identifier is the phone number you messaged from.
- The conversation and message ids, so a reply can be threaded correctly.
- Public preview data fetched from the link: its title, description, and thumbnail.
It does not read your other chats. On WhatsApp and Telegram a bot only receives messages addressed to it.
Who else processes it
- Supabase stores the saved links. Vercel runs the site and the bot.
- Google receives the link, its preview text, and your note. A Gemini model sorts each link into a category and writes a one-line summary. Place names are looked up against Google Maps.
- Meta and Telegram carry the messages themselves, under their own privacy policies.
- PostHog processes the website analytics described above.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.
Who can see the saved links
Be aware of this one before you send anything. The bank of saved links lives at an unlisted address that search engines are asked not to index. It is not behind a login.
Anyone who has that address can read what is in it. Treat anything you send the bot as visible to other people. Do not send it anything private.
The database itself is locked to server-side access only. No browser reaches it directly.
How long it is kept
Saved links are kept until deleted by hand. There is no automatic expiry yet. PostHog and Vercel keep analytics and logs on their own retention schedules.
Getting your data removed
Email cody.a.lieu@gmail.com and say which links to delete, or ask for everything you sent to be removed. There is no self-service delete yet, so this is done manually.
To stop the website analytics, turn on Do Not Track or use a content blocker. To stop the bot collecting anything, stop messaging it.
Children
This is not intended for children under 13, and it is not marketed to them.
Changes
If what the project collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list, so check back here.
